The Made in Bulgaria - Union of Small and Medium Enterprises Association held its 29th Golden Martenitsa Award Ceremony here on Wednesday.

The award has been instituted by the association in an effort to facilitate the recovery of Bulgarian products and services and an increase of their competitiveness at home and abroad.

President Rumen Radev presented a Golden Martenitsa to Lacrima Dairy Industry received by Mr. Muhanned Al-Nuaimi, chairman director of the company, which was distinguished as a company with major success on the domestic market trusted by Bulgarian consumers. Established in 1959, Lacrima is leading producer of dairy products in Bulgaria.

Vice President Iliana Iotova handed a Golden Martenitsa to Evropa OOD as a Bulgarian producer which has achieved success on the domestic market and has successfully marketed its brand. The company created and registered its own trade mark, FLAIR, in 2006, for the production of outfits for professional athletes, including Bulgaria's national team in wrestling, MMA, biathlon, etc.

Vidas Company OOD received a Golden Martenista from Toruism Minister Ilin Dimitrov for successful development and marketing of an original natural Bulgarian product. The start-up uses an innovative method to produce soft drinks with Bulgarian curative herbs and fruits.

A Golden Martenitsa for successful female entrepreneurship went to Dimitrinka Stoyanova, who owns and manages the Di Berry Group EOOD, a producer of berry crops since 2003.

Greeting the attendees of the ceremony, Made in Bulgaria - Union of Small and Medium Enterprises Governing Board Chair Kancho Stoychev said that with the passage of time Bulgarian producers are becoming ever more numerous and ever better. "Not that the business environment has improved: we're talking about one and the same thing every year, we and the employers approach the authorities about our priorities, and almost nothing of them has made any progress at the end of the year," Stoychev pointed out. He noted, though, that the employers were encouraged by their latest meeting with the President where, as he put it, they "met with understanding and an action plan."
