HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

Established in 1959, LÀCRIMA is one of the oldest dairy in Bulgaria,  specialized in production of high-quality white and yellow cheese, bearing the Bulgarian spirit and traditional taste.

LÀCRIMA'S plant is one of the most experienced and largest in Bulgaria, with an area of 19500 m2, and production capacity of approximately 70 tons of raw milk processing daily.  The plant is located in the town of Pazardzhik, South Bulgaria, near the Rhodope Mountains. The region is famous for its fertile soils, fruits and vegetable variety, green pastures, cattle breeding, and cheese production.

Our cheese is handmade by experienced cheesemakers according to a traditional Bulgarian recipe, using only the highest quality Bulgarian milk and carefully selected ferments.

To achieve the highest possible quality, experts test every batch of milk and every ferment purchased. Throughout the production process, each product undergoes more than 30 quality tests.

Lacrima's cheese products won two gold medals at the International Food Fair "The World of Milk" in Sofia in 2014.

HIGH QUALITY RAW MILK SUPPLY

Bulgarian natural raw milk is woven into Lacrima’s products. 

The largest livestock farms in South Bulgaria supply us daily with cow's milk and seasonally with sheep's milk.

Since Lacrima was established, we have provided resources and expertise to local livestock farms to ensure the purity, consistent quality and high nutritional value of the raw milk.

ADVANCED QUALITY CONTROL

LÀCRIMA has its own laboratory with modern equipment for the analysis of raw milk, product examination at the various stages of the production process and quality control of the final products.

A team of specialists monitors the technological performance at each stage of production.
Product samples are tested during coagulation, cutting and ripening. The storage process is monitored on a daily basis.
An external laboratory is involved in quality control to ensure the objectivity of the results.
Lacrima is an advanced dairy plant. Аn experimental laboratory for the creation of new innovative products, according to the modern trends, was also implemented.

High Quality Production

There are various technological approaches for producing Bulgarian white brine cheese and yellow cheese (Kashkaval). 

In Lacrima we produce according to the authentic traditional methods, insist on the highest possible quality, consistent taste and 100% natural origin.

The philosophy of the production is costumer centered and focuses on the subtle balance between high quality and affordable price, according to market demands.

Export Products WorldWide

LÀCRIMA is a licensed exporter of Bulgarian white brine cheese and yellow cheese. Outside Bulgaria, our products are also very well received by consumers in Europe, Russia and Middle East. With our new factory in Jordan, we have expanded our product range.

We can supply our products in bulk and branded consumer packaging, both in our standard formats and in formats specifically produced to suit our client’s needs.
Over half of our production is exported Overseas and we are currently looking for established partners in overseas countries to grow our presence in various markets.
 
06 // Middle East Branch - Kingdom of Jordan

Lacrima Dairy Industry Ltd board of directors, on Dec. 14, 2020, approved the investment plan to enter the Middle East market in the Kingdom of Jordan.

The plan will enable Lacrima Dairy Industry Ltd to offer its consumers high-quality local dairy products, the statement added.

The plan will be achieved through leveraging the company's existing milk supply to the market and route-to-market infrastructure.

The move entails an initial investment of EUR 50 million, financed from LÀCRIMA's operating cash flows, to build a new end-to-end production plant, from milk collection to cheese production to deliver ready packaged branded dairy products.

The move will expand the firm's product offering and contribute to the food security agenda as per the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
